Introduction
Like its namesake, “The General Room” is a contemporary office space envisioned to operate with military precision. Its name further pays tribute to a commanding army general, evoking authority and efficiency while symbolising the versatility of the space, which caters to diverse business needs.
Perfect Harmony
From a design perspective, MGroup aimed to foster a collaborative atmosphere within The General Room by creating a balance between openness and privacy. Stepping into the entrance area, the reception and concierge counter harmoniously coexist via a long café counter to set off a welcoming ambience.
Next to it, the casual seating area exudes a classic modern style, featuring a central pillar that showcases the company’s digital branding. To achieve a unique contemporary design concept, MGroup tastefully adorned the member’s lounge in an updated Art Deco theme where classic panels and avant-garde hanging light fixtures add opulence, infusing a sense of timeless charm.

Optimising Space
To ensure optimal use of space, the office is divided into two distinct sections with different ceiling designs. The front area boasts a timber trellis ceiling, while the opposite end features an open ceiling with luxurious light fixtures that highlight its intricate details. Throughout the various work zones, glass walls elegantly separate the private offices while maintaining a sense of connectedness.
The General Room is also highly versatile and adaptable, easily transforming into a town hall space for companies hosting Friday night events. In addition, two boardrooms can be seamlessly combined into one using a heavy-duty acoustic operable wall, which can be discreetly folded and stored away when not in use.
