As a prominent global technology provider, Ricoh is committed to enhancing work-life experience by empowering digital workplaces with cutting-edge solutions. In the pursuit of incorporating the company's fundamental principles into the design of their Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, Mgroup employed two essential elements to optimise spatial utilisation and bolster productivity.
The Finer Details
Firstly, a visionary activity-based working (ABW) concept was introduced, skillfully dividing the office space into four distinct zones: workstations, the e-Cafe, meeting spaces, and collaborative areas. The second one was a suite of intelligent office solutions featuring an intricate ecosystem of data-driven hardware and software that fosters an agile digital workspace within the ABW framework.
The journey into Ricoh's office starts with an elegant waiting space adorned with meticulous details, including a wood trellis and tasteful red accents derived from Ricoh's corporate colour. From the lobby, the space opens into the meeting zones and collaboration areas designed to seamlessly accommodate various work activities throughout the day.
“Inspired by the iconic landmarks of Marina Bay Sands, we designed a striking tree-like sculpture reminiscent of the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. Crafted from gracefully bending wood strips that extend and ‘branch’ towards the ceiling, this centrepiece anchors the collaboration area, bringing nature and design into harmony.
Garden in the Office
In addition to serving as a local hub for sales and services, Ricoh's Singapore also assumes the role of the regional headquarters for Ricoh Asia Pacific. With a focus on expanding its presence in the region, the company aimed to infuse cultural identity into the office design while maintaining a sophisticated and modern aesthetic. For example, one of the culturally-inspired centrepieces of the office is a colossal tree-like sculpture resembling the renowned Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
Above all, Ricoh's office transcends the conventional confines of a workplace where an interactive environment ensures flexible work styles, creative exchanges and improved productivity.
