Gold Standard:
State-of-the-art Design Defines the Maybank (Cambodia) Tower

Maybank (Cambodia) Tower

Client: Maybank (Cambodia)
Floor size: 60,000 sq ft

Introduction

The Maybank (Cambodia) PLC’s 12-storey office tower is MGroup’s most prominent project for Maybank to date. For this project, MGroup covered a broad scope of services, including site management, interior design, M&E design, QS works, as well as facade signage and lighting design for the bank’s headquarters. Throughout the year-long construction process, the principal and senior designer remained on-site, ensuring that the project met the stringent standards of the bank and aligned with Maybank’s brand identity in Singapore and Malaysia.

General Gestures

At the front entrance, Maybank’s striking signage with its vibrant yellow logo immediately catches the eye. From here, the space opens to a spacious hall with a 6-metre-high ceiling and glass panels enveloping the front facade. Adjacent to the front lobby, MGroup included an ATM area for convenient access. To separate the ATM area from the main hall, an operable glass wall was employed to provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Inside the main customer banking hall, imported polished floor tiles and smooth Corian surfaces adorn the curvilinear countertops from Singapore, contributing to a sleek and elegant ambience. The walls feature glossy Alucobond panels with a metallic finish, while banking posters add a touch of vibrancy to the wall behind the teller counters.

The brief called for a sophisticated and customer-friendly interior concept while keeping stringently to Maybank’s corporate identity and Singapore’s standards of quality. To achieve this, we utilised quality materials and installation methods from Singapore.

Go for Gold

To further accentuate Maybank’s branding, the design team incorporated gold hues throughout the hall. Gold-coloured tinted mirror finish adorns the pillars, while the signage wall showcases gold-toned glass. The centrepiece of the interior is a curved coffer lighting feature that enhances the elegant palette.

In keeping with the key concept, MGroup also implemented a similar design approach for the Privilege Banking level. A diamond-shaped feature wall inspired by the Singapore office and imported carpets from the United States add a luxurious vibe to the space.
