Future Forward:
Angles, Colour, and Light Define Future Electronics’ Bold New Office
Introduction
MGroup brought to life a bold new vision for Future Electronics’ Singapore office, reflecting the company’s stature as a global leader in electronic and electromechanical products. Anchored by the belief that “the future is not predictable”, the design departs from convention with angular forms, bold palettes, and luminous features that energise the space—many of which highlight the company’s own technological expertise.
Angles and Energy
Inclined and angular walls carve out a contemporary, high-energy interior that reflects the company’s forward-looking philosophy. At the entrance, a striking diamond-shaped signage wall sets the tone, establishing the angular language that runs throughout. At the reception, a ceiling of colour-changing LEDs greets visitors with a dynamic display.
Glass-walled meeting rooms extend this narrative: when doors are opened, integrated sensor-activated LED systems illuminate the boundaries; first lighting up the glass, then the room to create an interactive experience.
“The resulting transformation has worked better than anyone imagined at the outset, and even those who questioned the rationale behind such a dramatic change have been won over thanks to the results.
Integration of Innovation
Beyond aesthetic appeal, the design demonstrates ingenuity in seamlessly integrating the company’s own lighting products. From the glowing ceiling installation to accent details within collaborative areas, the office becomes a live showcase of Future Electronics’ capabilities.
The layout also embraces energy efficiency and natural light, positioning rooms at the centre while freeing the perimeter for daylight to flood the workspace. In addition, a ribbon-flow pantry and open central collaboration zone continue the dynamic geometry of the design, offering spaces that encourage informal interaction and teamwork.
The workspace was so well received that the client nominated it for the prestigious President’s Design Award in Singapore, a recognition of its visionary concept and distinctive execution.
