Sustainable Design Elevates Everyday Work at Air Liquide’s Office
Introduction
Sustainability and innovation form the foundation of Air Liquide’s Singapore office. A French company and the world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health, Air Liquide tasked MGroup with creating a workspace that not only embodies its ethos but also meets rigorous environmental standards.
Sustainability at the Core
Located within the GEM Office — a building where all tenants must comply with BCA Green Mark requirements — the space was carefully designed and pre-qualified to achieve the prestigious BCA Green Mark Platinum Gold Plus certification. Working closely with BCA officers, the design team meticulously selected recycled wood, eco-friendly paints, energy-efficient luxe lighting, and water-saving taps. Each material and system was chosen to meet stringent certification benchmarks for energy, lighting, and environmental performance, culminating in the coveted Platinum Gold Plus award.

By integrating eco-conscious materials with bold, flowing forms, we not only achieved BCA’s Green Mark Gold Plus certification but also crafted an environment that embodies the company’s spirit of innovation and connection.
Creative Oxygen
Stepping into the office, the reception is oriented for direct visibility of the Air Liquide logo upon entry, complemented by the brand’s signature orange and blue accents and dark wood finishes that add warmth to the modern palette. From the reception through to the pantry, a wave-like ceiling feature lights up the office, symbolising the flow of “creative oxygen” that drives Air Liquide’s culture of innovation. This feature continues into the boardroom as an “energy waveband”, enhanced by full A/V and acoustic treatment for privacy and performance.
Connection Through Design
The workplace also fosters interaction and collaboration. Low-panel desks promote openness and visibility, encouraging employees to engage more freely with one another. Combined with the clean, modern design language, the office conveys a sense of vitality that reflects Air Liquide’s forward-looking vision.
