The brief was clear from the start: a contemporary, clean look. This we achieved with a disciplined application of materials. A line of timebr columns on the west elevation of the generously proportioned living room is repeated to the TV wall, display cabinet, walk-in-shoe-closet and backdrop of the kitchen. Set against a uniform floor of grey tiles, minimalistic walls, and well-appointed furnishings, the first-storey of the house exudes an air of formality.

Above are relaxed private spaces crafted for the fourgeneration family living under one roof—a task akin to designing three flats at one go. Much of our re-layout was to ensure everyone enjoys their private sanctuaries, and can use the semi-common spaces without inhibitions. Even the two grandchildren were not left out, they have a large pantry and play area where everything can be messed up, but contained behind doors.
