Warm Connections:
Zurich Insurance’s Office is Designed to Feel Like Home
Introduction
The key concept for Zurich Insurance's office is a workplace designed around human connection. By bringing warmth, light and hospitality into the office, it was essential for Zurich’s team to feel at home even at work. Here's where MGroup reimagined the traditional office as a warm and engaging environment designed to draw in its mobile workforce.
A Place to Connect
With brokers often working off-site, the goal was to create a space that encourages them to return, collaborate and recharge. Nearly 40 per cent of the office was redesigned as a large collaboration zone, open to natural light and framed by vertical greenery. A café-like setting with communal tables and a fully equipped kitchen encourages casual interactions and shared experiences throughout the day.
Café Culture
Concrete floors, open ceilings and a palette of white and glass lend the space a clean, contemporary feel, softened by plants and warm lighting. The reception area is kept minimal — defined by Zurich’s illuminated logo and direct access to daylight — leading naturally into the social core of the office. Even the meeting room departs from convention: styled like a cafe, it doubles as a dining space where colleagues can share meals and ideas in a relaxed setting.
“Natural light, greenery and openness were central to the design. These simple gestures transform the office into a welcoming, living space that energises and unites the team.
