A conducive yet easy to maintain design welcomes the 400 to 500 port workers that come through these two buildings—the Keppel Workshop and Tanjong Pagar Complex—every day 24/7. One of the main challenges was
containing the dirt and oil workers would bring in from the harbour and into the centre’s offices, rooms for meetings and training, auditoriums, a pantry and a collaboration area. This we resolved with a design that considers the flow of human traffic and the choice of durable construction materials. The end result is a modern and clean centre that lasts.
